Dave Charlebois is making a last call to turn in uniforms. Dave is leaving the park on the 18th. Put your jerseys, pants, and shorts in a bag with your name on it. You can leave the bag on the table in his driveway if he’s not home. Site 366 on New Mexico.
Shuffleboard before Tuesday’s “Pit”
Darcy is planning a fun shuffleboard game at the shuffleboard courts at 2:30 pm before the pit on Tuesday for anyone who wants to come out and play. Then we’ll head to the pit at 4:00 pm.
Last week of games!
Congratulations to the Miners! They finished their season yesterday in the Superstition league Tournament. They had a regular season record of 10-4 and a #1 seed in the tournament. They won the semi-final game against the Golden Sun Sundowners by a score of 13-8, and won the championship game 11-2 over the Resort Rockets, for a final record of 12-4!
The last two games of the season are makeup games with the Nuggets taking on Golden Vista at “Hole in the Wall” on Thursday, March 9th, at 11:00 AM and 12:15 PM. Let’s have a good group show up and support the Nuggets!
Finally, we could use a volunteer or two to sell pancake breakfast tickets at the Bistro and Under the Sails next week!

There has been a change in the start time in the semi final game for the Miners tomorrow in the Superstition League playoff tournament.
The start time has been changed from 1:30 PM to 12 nooN.
The Miners finish their season on Tuesday with the Superstition League playoff tournament. The Miners earned a first round bye because of their strong regular season record(10-4). The venue is at “The Resort”, against the Viewpoint Comancheros in the semi-final game at 12 noon . The winner of that game then plays immediately afterwards in the Championship game.

Greg Verekyn has taken the leftovers of the prime rib from last nights banquet and we’ll use them at the “Pit” on March 14th.

Gold Canyon Copperheads (70+) vs Mesa Regal 70’s tomorrow!
The Copperheads team is playing in the semi final game of the San Tan 70’s tournament against the Mesa Regal 70’s. The venue is Valle Del Oro and game time is 8:30. If they win this game, they’ll be playing in the Championship game at 1:30. Let’s get out there and support our team!

Super Bowl Sunday!
There is a group of GCSA members that are going up to the clubhouse ballroom for the Super Bowl celebration. Let’s get some more members and spouses to join us and sit together and have some fun! The tickets (purchase at activities desk) cost $10 and include food. Doors open at 4:00! Hope to see you there!
Pancake breakfast fundraiser # 2 is in the books!
The second Pancake Breakfast of the year took place today and Gold Canyon residents enjoyed pancakes, orange juice and our famous sausages! After serving 364 patrons at our first breakfast two weeks ago, we followed with 336 today! According to senior member Tom Inch, the GCSA has never done two 300+ servings in the same year. Thanks to all our volunteers and GCRV residents for another successful fund raiser for our softball association!
And of course, Darcy was in rare form!
